Bazzill Cardstock

Hi everyone,

One of the most common questions I get asked about bazzill is, " Whats the difference?" As there are so many colours and quite a few ranges I thought who better to explain it than the manufacturer!
So Lisa from the Marketing & Product Development department from Bazzill has kindly taken time out to fill us all in with the designs and ideas behind the Bazzill range.

Bazzill Basics Paper introduced its first cardstock line as Monochromatic. Each color has a canvas texture and has 5 colors that coordinate ranging from a light to dark hue of the main color. We call our collections a "family". The colors in the family are meant to work together as complementary, triadic, and monochromatic blends. We offer a color wheel for the Monochromatic cardstock colors that makes it very easy to combine colors with fabulous results.

Not long after, we created Monochromatic Trios to complement missing colors from the original Monochromatic line. The Mono Trios are also a canvas textured, monochromatic palette as its name implies, but there are only a range of three hues in this line: light, medium, and dark. This is a family all its own and the colors can blend in monochromatic, complementary, and triadic combinations using a color wheel designed for this line.

Often color trends shift from bright to muted, neon to pastel or some other unexpected combination. Bazzill works with color forecasting companies to stay abreast of the up-and-coming color trends years before colors make their way to your local scrapbook store. For example, the canvas textured, Destinations line of cardstock is a result of a shift in the color trends from bright to bohemian. Bazzill needed to be sure we had color selections in that palette and the result was the release of an entire collection of new colors with names from far away destinations we dream of traveling.

Customer demand is also a way we develop product lines. Card makers and rubber stampers were screaming for a smooth, heavy weight paper that is easy to write on, takes the ink of a stamp beautifully, and folds with a crisp sharp edge. More research involving the ink most popular ink colors, stamp designs, and pen colors in the market revealed the need for yummy colors that now make up our Smoothies cardstock line.

As the earning for colorful and textured cardstock grew, so did our collections. Now we offer other textures including: Orange Peel, Burlap, Dotted Swiss, Grass Cloth, Corduroy, and more. Each has a unique offering of colors in the line that does not repeat any other color offered by Bazzill. It is fun to grab a piece of patterned paper from any of the popular scrapbook manufacturers and scan Bazzill's cardstock to find paper that matches every single color. It is pretty amazing.

On our display racks we place paper in rainbow order (pink, red, orange, yellow, green, blue, purple, brown, white and black) and then in monochromatic sequence from light to dark. Bazzill designers love mixing textures to create an interested page layout. It is all about pulling together the colors you love!
Thanks,
Lisa Brennan
